Washington Labor & Industries

Good afternoon Colleagues, I was wondering if someone could help me out with some trouble I'm having in understanding the Washington Labor & Industries from Washington State. I have the Employer contribution set-up as a memo code and the Employee withholding as a deduction. Question 1. Is WA L&I considered a Payroll tax or a Workers Comp? Question 2 is for someone that also does Payroll Journal Entries. If WA L&I is Payroll Tax, Does the Employer Contribution should be booked to the tax expense account? How should the employee’s withholding be recorded – as a liability? I would greatly appreciate some guidance. Thank you, Francisca
